Introducing Soham Baptist Church

Soham Baptist Church is a community of ordinary people from all ages, backgrounds and denominations.   Some of us have strong church roots, others have none.  But we all have one thing in common... we love God and are seeking to follow Jesus Christ, his Son.  We believe that Jesus is the key to life.  Through his death on the cross, he has rescued us from the penalty and the power of our sin.  Through Jesus, we stand accepted by God.  He gives us a sense of purpose for today and hope for tomorrow.

We are a family of people committed to God and to each other.   We believe the Bible to be the perfect and sufficient Word of God for all time and all people.  It is our sure guide in faith and practice.   Our Confession of Faith is available for you to investigate further in What We Believe.

To find out more about us please take the time to explore our web site and read through this description of the life and work of SBC.  If you require more information about any aspect of what we do, please contact us via the Feedback page of this site or join us one Sunday and speak to one of the elders after the service.

If you are visiting or moving to the area, we warmly welcome you to our church and pray that you will find blessing and guidance for your life as you worship with us.

We are an independent church affiliated to the wider Christian community through the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC).

Christianity in a nutshell

· God is the loving creator of this world; he made us to live in a personal relationship with him but…

·  We have all rebelled against him; we make a mess of running the world and our own lives…

·   God must judge this rebellion; but in his love for us, he has sent his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ into the world so that we might not suffer the consequences of rejecting him…

·  Jesus died to take the punishment of our rebellion and rose again as God’s chosen king.  Through him, God offers us a new start with Jesus running our lives…

·  Either we can reject God and face being overthrown in the end; or we can let the Lord Jesus take charge of our lives and receive the fresh start that God wants to give us through him.
